The best way to get the perfect fit is to measure a belt that you currently use from the far end of the buckle to the hole you use - that is your real belt size. Do not use your pants, trousers or jeans size as they very depending on the manufacturer.

What size do I order?
Measure a belt you already wear — from the far end of the buckle to the hole you actually use. That measurement in inches is your size.
Do not use your trouser size. Trouser and belt sizing have not matched since the 1970s, and they vary between manufacturers anyway.

Will the scratches ruin it?
No. On crazy horse leather the marks are the wax finish doing its job. Most rub out with your thumb. The ones that stay become the patina, which is rather the point.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it clean. Condition it twice a year if you remember. Do not soak it or dry it on a radiator. That is the whole routine.
